Developer Tapbots on Monday released a new version of its Tweetbot Twitter client for iPhone and iPad, delivering a new feature that enables fine tuning of user interface settings like "Tap to Top."
Called "Behaviors," the new settings category in Tweetbot version 6.3 allows users to tweak their experience within the app using simple toggles.
For example, the aforementioned "Tap to Top" setting, which lets users scrolls back to the top of their Twitter timeline by tapping iPhone or iPad's status bar, can be disabled with a switch. Likewise, other options like drag and drop tweets, and swipe to switch themes, can be enabled or disabled in Behaviors.
The full list of Behaviors settings:
- Enable/Disable Tap to Top. By default, tapping the status bar will bring you to the top of your timeline. If this happens by accident and bugs you, you can now turn this feature off.
- Enable/Disable Drag & Drop Tweets. If you always accidentally invoke the drag and drop feature and wish there was a way to turn that off, now you can!
- Enable/Disable Swipe to Switch Themes. Swiping up or down with two fingers normally switches to the next or previous theme. If this happens by accident far too often you can now turn this feature off.
- Enable the ability to Customize All Tabs. For years many of you have asked for the ability to customize all the tab buttons in Tweetbot. Well, finally you can now turn this option on and set your tab menubar exactly how you wish.
- Before, the short right swipe on a tweet gesture was configurable between liking or retweeting. Now you can also customize this gesture to open link to tweet, copy link to tweet, copy tweet text, add to reading list, or be disabled completely.
Along with Behaviors, the latest version of Tweetbot adds iPad Keyboard shortcuts, a new "DJ" app icon and a "Harvest" light theme.
Tapbots earlier this month pushed out a substantial update to Tweetbot 6 that brought widget support, multitasking features for iPad and Shortcuts integration.
Tweetbot version 6.3 can be downloaded for free from the App Store, with subscriptions pricing of $5.99 a year or $0.99 a month.
